I think its a great way for the reader to engage with the 'real' you and humanises the blogger. I haven't done too many vlogs but I'm hoping to do more. I become too critical of myself and keep re-recording until its right! I do agree that it takes more time for the reader to watch a video than to skim through text so I wouldn't want to overload my blog with videos because of this.
