Ashe Mischief of Dramatis Personae
I started my blog in July 2007, and I wanted a place outside of Livejournal where I could share all the pretty clothes I’d been coveting and found online (I figured LJ friends were tired of clothing posts!). At this time, I was reading Bits and Bobbins, along with The Coveted, and I was really inspired by them having fashion blogs NOT on LJ…
5 things I’ve learned about blogging:
1. Blogging is harder than people expect.
2. Your voice, image/brand, and audience have a value. Respect yours and respect others.
3. It’s okay to say “no.”
4. Building genuine relationships with other bloggers is amazing and beautiful.
5. Step back from the SEO, the page rank, the stats, the competition OFTEN, and reflect on why you’re blogging, what you want your content to be, and make it happen.

i could not agree more…and i especially love number 3 – it’s something we ALL forget every once in a while, but so important to remember.
and number 4 is so true. since i started to be more “social” with other bloggers a few years ago, everything changed for me. i truly value ALL of my online friends, as well as the offline ones i’ve made since moving to austin. “amazing and beautiful” is the perfect way to describe the way i feel about my relationships with other bloggers…
